    Hi Everyone,

My name is Doris H. Dancy, and I am a brand new novelist. Without a doubt, this has been one of the most exciting times of my life. A whole new world is opening up to me, and it is a wonderful reveal. As I stated on my web page, "I cannot remember a time when I was not enthralled with reading a story or telling one." Last year I wrote my debut novel, Jagged Edges, and actualized a dream. It is a Christian romance that details the life of my protagonist, Derek Chase Wellington,III who is born into wealth, graduates from Havard Law with honors, and is prepared to marry the beautiful and talented Morgan LaRue. Betrayal stops him in his tracks, and he has to connect with Christ in order to save both his heart and soul.

As a high school English teacher, English Teacher Specialist, and later Supervisor of English, I have had a multiplicity of opportunities to discuss and analyze characters. Nothing, however, has been more fulfilling than creating my own and watching them take shape and come alive on the page. It is my pleasure to be among a group who loves to write and bring to life people born out of imagination. I look forward to learning more and more about this craft, and hearing your points of view.

You can view my (incomplete) web page at www.dorishdancy.com and see some of the things that I am doing. I have attached my novel to the cause of helping our young adults better understand what it means to have a Godly relationship that is based on true love and not mere infatuation.

I can't wait to hear from you all and the many things that you are doing in the area of writing.

    Hi Samantha,

It's great to meet you, and also to connect with another writer of romance. While I have been a writer for a lifetime, this is my debut novel. Before, I wrote poetry and plays mostly.

I will take a look at your book. Yes, I know about point of view, but I'm a little different. I NEVER like to stick with the norm. My romance is even told, for the most part, from a man's point of view which is very different. Most of the ones that I have read were written from a woman's perspective. Even though it is a Christian novel, I wanted my characters to make mistakes as we all do, so they stumble a lot before that really connect with Christ.

I have connected my novel with a cause because I think that too many people get caught up in infatuation and stifle their chances at true love. They move far too fast and pay little attention to what God asks of us in if we are to form Godly relationships. Through my novel, I want to show some of the pitfalls and some of the red flags that create problems in relationships. If you get a chance, take a look at my novel, Jagged Edges, and tell me what you think. It is also at Amazon.

Again, it is great to meet you.

Hey as long as you mark your POV changes a man's pov is a great way to do a novel. I just know so many people when they first start out don't even have a clue what pov is or how to avoid head hopping.

    Thanks for joining us here!!!

Good luck on your new novel.
